Phantoms Swept in Sunday Double-header by Delaware Tech

Georgetown, Del. -   The young Delaware County Community College baseball team continues to not back down from the best competition in the area. The Phantoms dropped both games of a doubleheader to host Delaware Technical Community College Sunday afternoon but gained valuable experience that they should benefit from later in the season.

DCCC fell in Game 1, 10-1, before dropping Game 2, 7-0.

Delaware Tech, a fellow member of Region XIX with the Phantoms, posed a big challenge as it competes at the Division II level.

Cole DeRosa managed the lone hit of the first contest for the Phantoms - a double.

Game 2 saw DCCC register four hits – Benjamin Beasley with two, Gabe Palandro with 1, and DeRosa with one.

Hunter Whitten gave up five hits, and struck out two over four innings in the Game 1 loss.

Sean Duffy took the loss in Game 2.

Quin Windett struck out 11 and went the distance for Delaware Tech (10-12) in the first game of the day, while Sean Bogan earned the win in Game 2.

Next up for DCCC (0-6) is a doubleheader on Tuesday at Ocean County Community College beginning at noon.
