McCarthy Goes the Distance for EPAC Player of the Week Honors and Nationals Invite

Cheyenne McCarthy is the EPAC Player of the Week for Women's Track and Field for the week of March 16-22, awarded by the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference. Sophomore student-athlete McCarthy qualified for the NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field National Meet in both the 800m and 1500m with her performances (2:40.68 in the 800m for 15th place; 5:32.46 in the 1500m for 16th) at the Purple and Gold Open at West Chester University, her inaugural meet as a Phantom. The first women's team member to compete in these events, she is the first athlete from DCCC's track-and-field programs to earn the opportunity to represent the College at Nationals in either distance. In the NJCAA's DIII national rankings, McCarthy currently sits in eighth in the 800m and seventh in the 1500m. Congrats, Cheyenne! Go, Phantoms!
