DCCC Track & Field Marshals Holiday 5K to Support Radnor Library
Wayne, PA—Delaware County Community College track-and-field student-athletes Natalie Torres and Fatumata Kaba along with Head Coach Cara Fordenbacher and Assistant Coach Chris Coates volunteered as race marshals at Radnor Memorial Library's Elves for the Shelves 5K, Fun Run & Walk. In its 12th year, the event on West Wayne Avenue boasted 746 registered participants and raised over $70,720 for the library from individuals, families, teams, and sponsors.
2025 marks the second consecutive year of Phantoms participation in Elves for the Shelves. "There is nothing better than being able to share our time in the community, especially in such a joyous and festive way," Fordenbacher said. "I am thrilled to have student-athlete representatives from DCCC Track and Field volunteer and continue this team tradition!"
"It was great to support such a good cause and to see the turnout," said Kaba, double medalist at NJCAA Nationals and USTFCCCA Central Region Women's Field Athlete of the Year last season. "I was able to encourage a lot of participants whether they were leading the race or running or walking for fun, and I met and talked with a lot of good people."
Kaba and Torres are both sophomore returners for the 2026 outdoor season and were named to the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) All-Academic Team for Spring 2025. DCCC offers both Women's and Men's Track and Field programs coached by Fordenbacher.
