Highly Qualified Phantoms to Crowd the National Stage

Delaware and Chester Counties, PA—In the second meet of the season, Delaware County Community College track-and-field athletes earned more opportunities to compete in the 2025 NJCAA Division III National Championships at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY, May 8-10. The Phantoms posted qualifying performances in men's individual and relay sprints as well as the women's triple jump at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University.
After qualifying in the 100m in his season debut the previous weekend, sophomore (Tre) Fred McCray added the 200m to his Nationals start list with a time of 23.31 (15th in the nation) at Widener.
Fellow second-year Aidan Heppard matched McCray, posting national-standard marks in both the 100m (11.31, currently 12th in the nation) and the 200m. Heppard ran 22.58 in the 200m for the sixth spot on the national leaderboard.
Heppard and McCray along with first-year student athletes Jimmy Love and Daniel McLaughlin delivered a 43.56 mark in the men's 4x100m relay, qualifying the team for the event and leaving them standing fourth in the nation this week. McLaughlin had hurdled into Nationals eligibility for the 110m HH and 400m IH in the prior meet.
First-year Fatumata Kaba, already eligible to represent the Phantoms in the women's long jump, also qualified in the triple jump with a mark of 11.25m and a number one national ranking!
