The Phantoms Took on the Ursinus College Track and Field Festival
Collegeville, Pa. - The Delaware County Community College track and field team continued its season Saturday at the Ursinus College Track and Field Festival.
Six Phantoms competed during the course of the day.
William MacIntosh set a new Personal Record (PR) in the Javelin with a mark of 20.14 meters (66 feet, 1 inch) placing him 27th. This mark replaces his previous School Record in this event!
Aidan Heppard also established a new PR as he crossed the line in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.98 seconds to finish in 21st place.
Dennis Omane-Nketia set a PR of his own in the 200m, placing 34th with a time of 24.96.
Also competing at Ursinus were Jadon Thomas (100m), Thiernod Faye (400m, 800m) on the men's side, and Bintu Sheriff (100m, 200m) on the women's side.
Coach Cara Fordebacher and Coach Stephen Battle are pleased with the results they are seeing from their athletes.
"All of the hard work the athletes have been putting in is paying off," Fordenbacher said. "We are seeing many of our athletes setting personal records or close to it. We have three meets left to keep chipping away at our athlete's personal records and hopefully see one or two of them qualify for that trip to the national championship in May!"
The Phantoms are back in action next Saturday, April 13th, at the Bill Butler Invitational hosted by West Chester University.
