Phantoms Open Season at Towson

Towson, Md. - The Delaware County Community College opened the season Saturday with a strong showing at the Tiger Season Opener hosted by Towson University.

Thiernod 'Joseph' Faye picked up where he left off last season as Faye broke his previous school record in the 800 meter run with a time of 2 minutes and 30.64 seconds, which is also a personal record.

Dennis Omane-Nketia was the Phantoms' top performer for the day, clocking the fastest time for the Phantoms in the 100m and 200m with times of 12.27 and 25.40, respectively.

Coaches Cara Fodenbacher and Stephen Battle were thrilled with how the Phantoms started out the season.

"We definitely have some work to do," Fordebacher said, "but we are pleased with how the guys opened up their respective seasons and can't wait to see what they do moving forward."

The Phantoms are back in action next Saturday, March 23rd at West Chester University for the Purple and Gold Invitational.
