Gjergo Earns All-Region Nod
Toms River, N.J.—Henry Gjergo's standout effort helped fuel the Delaware County Community College men's soccer team offensive attack this season. The rest of Region XIX took notice as the first-year forward was named to the 2021 Division III All-Region Second Team, as announced on Saturday.
Starting every contest of the season, Gjergo led the Phantoms in goals (9), points (19), shots on goal (53) and total shots (88) during the 2021 campaign. Gjergo's season-high three goals on Oct. 8 spearheaded DCCC to a 3-0 shutout of host Williamson College of the Trades.
Gjergo's exceptional efforts on offense put him among the national leaders in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as he finished the regular season ranked second nationally in total shots among all Division III players.
