Media, PA—Henry Gjergo provided all the offense as his first collegiate hat trick lifted the Delaware County Community College men's soccer team past host Williamson College of the Trades, 3-0, on Friday afternoon.
Gjergo's first tally of the day, in the 38th minute, gave the Phantoms (3-4) a lead they would not relinquish. Willie Barsee-March registered the assist on Gjergo's fourth of the season.
Leading 1-0 at the break, DCCC continued to attack against the Mechanics (2-4-1), and Gjergo was far from finished, as he added two second-half goals. John Lenart supplied the assist on Gjergo's second of the day, in the 55th minute, before a successful penalty kick, in the 85th minute, put the final touches on Gjergo's standout performance.
Jonathan Deutsch registered his first collegiate shutout with nine saves on the afternoon.
The Phantoms will look to make it two straight victories when they host Salem Community College on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
