Delaware & Chester Counties, PA— Mirvan Dinler and Mohammad Hoque scored their first collegiate goals but it wasn't enough as the Delaware County men's soccer team fell to visiting Middlesex County College, 5-2, on Thursday afternoon.
The Blue Colts (5-4-2) jumped out to a 2-0 advantage before Hoque tallied the first of his career off an assist from Godwin Okonkwo in the 34th minute.
Facing a 3-1 deficit at the break, the Phantoms (2-4) could not slow Middlesex down, as the Blue Colts again scored the first two goals of the second half. DCCC would not go away, however, as Dinler scored unassisted in the 84th minute, but time ran out on the Phantoms' plans to rally.
Henry Gjergo was once again active on offense for the hosts as he led the squad with six shots on goal for the day.
Victor Bussab and Jonathan Deutsch combined for 12 saves.
The Phantoms look to bounce back on Friday, as they make the short trip to Williamson College of the Trades for a 4 p.m. contest against the Mechanics.
