Delaware County Dropped Two Games on the Road at Ocean County
Toms River, N.J. - Eric Engesser continued his strong start to the season with three hits on the day as the Delaware County Community College baseball team dropped two games to host Ocean County College Tuesday afternoon.
Engesser went a combined 3-for-5 on the day, including a 2-for-2 showing with a double in Game 2, to put his on-base percentage to .632 and his batting average to .533 which ranks 17th and 18th, respectively, among all Division III players in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Maximillian Curley also registered two hits in Game 2.
Michael Casson, Sean Duffy, Daniel Guinan, Izaah Perocier, and Hunter Whitten accounted for the Phantoms' other hits over the course of the afternoon.
Casson and Whitten took the losses on the mound in Game 1 and Game 2, respectively.
The Vikings (6-4) swept the day's doubleheader by scores of 23-0 (Game 1), and 20-0 in Game 2.
DCCC (0-8) returns to action Thursday at home against Manor College, first pitch is scheduled for 3:30pm. The Phantoms are looking for redemption after dropping their season opener to the Blue Jays 12-11.
