DCCC Bats Silenced by Lehigh Carbon
Media, Pa. — The Delaware County Community College baseball team found hits hard to come by Tuesday afternoon as the Phantoms fell 9-1 to visting Lehigh Carbon College.
DCCC (0-9) hung right with the Cougars in the early part of the contest, as it trailed 2-1 after five, before Lehigh Carbon (2-13) scored the last seven runs of the game.
Anthony Georgette provided the lone extra-base hit of the afternoon for the Phantoms when he led off the game with a double. Cidrick Navas, Wayne Stewart, and Jake Dougherty tallied the other hits on the day for DCCC.
Georgette also contributed a solid performance on the mound as he surrendered just six hits over six innings in the loss.
The Phantoms welcome Middlesex College Thursday afternoon in the final home contest of the season. First pitch against the Blue Colts is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
